on monday i went ferreting with 2 of my jills but i went at 1 till 3 so a bit late? but do you think it would be worthing going early in the morning as round the warrens theres rabbit shit everywhere.

ferreting in winter, is far better early morning, otherwise the time will come when your digging in the dark

You will still get a couple of hours ferreting in and hopefully a few rabbits but just to be safe dont put your ferret to ground after 3.30pm i keep a rechargable lamp in the car in case i get caught out

Get as many hours in as you can in any day, then if your not doing very well you can move some were better, Its tough on my patch at the moment, so the more hours I put in, the more there is to put in the freezer to feed the crew.

This time of year i'm up on my ground no later than 9am & i will very rarely put a fert down after 2pm.

I normally arrive at 7.30-8.30am have a quick cup of tea in the car then get going until about 3.30pm.

 

Personally I wouldnt bother going out at that time for a couple of hours. All the permission I have tends to be really big sets that can take a few hours each so it wouldnt be worth it.

 

I might if I just wanted a couple on the quiet but if I was going to a permission, I wouldnt bother.
