I grew up in Tower Hill, Kirby, in the 70s , and people have a lot more today than people did then and i dont remember kids shooting each other , obviously there is good people on the croxteth and norris green estates, Rhys Jones parents prove this.

if the police over here started shooting at will there would be a public out cry .. people like to moan - either side of the fence and they like to been seen on the victims side too.

 

What sean mercer has done is wrong, no doubt about it but hes a victim here too. Look what society has made him. Im sure brought up in the right area, the right way with all the best opportunities, his life would have went a different way. its so easy to slip down the wrong path, getting back up aint easier either.

 

One way to put it is, you can have a dog bred from the best stuff, give it a shit upbringing and show it things too young while it easily infuenced and its bound to have negative effects ..

 

According to the papers, mercer appeared not to care. A lad facing life imprisonment doesn't care? How bad is that when the lad doesnt care about his own life .. how can you expect him to care about others.

 

IN cases like this everyone is a looser. If only the help had been there for him before he even got into the slightest incline of trouble. The gangster life type is something to look upto these days.

 

As for the comment in the 70 and guns .. where they readily available like today? Instead of shooting each other, people would have a fight .. then someone would pick up a stick .. its just a knock on effect ..

100% agree mate but unfortunately the wannabe gangsters wont go away anytime soon, I wish they would because us "good" youth get treated as if we are all like these scummers.
