Tiff 36
one collection (if the sperm shows good motility - "life"), should have anywhere from 2-5 breedings worth, depending on the size of the dog. I think it can get expensive for when the bitch comes in, and testing her for the "right" time to best insert the straws. And no, the dog does not have to be alive to collect, as there is sperm always waiting in the dog, so as long as he had not just been bred before death, it might be worth collecting if the dog is newly deceased Quote Link to post

Greengrass 201
I've never heard of sperm being taken from a dead dog succesfully, know matter how fresh it was, in fact i've never heard of anybody even trying to get sperm from a recently expired animal. Quote Link to post
csm 0
GETTING THIS DONE JUST CAUSE YOU HAVE A GOOD DOG IS ONE THING..........I GOT IT DONE BECAUSE I HAD A DOG THAT COULD PRODUCE AS GOOD AS OR BETTER THAN HIM SELF, AND EVERY THING OFF HIM WORKED !!!!! did the dog cover total outcross,s ? . i agree it would have to be a proven producer of grafters to consider this . Guest fell terrier
to be able to breed 100% workers out of every litter is complete nonsense its impossible if it was that easy everyone would have em Quote Link to post
Guest fell terrier
p***y how do you work that one out it is impossible to breed 100% workers out of every litter FACT if so how come nuttall and gould and all the rest of them have failures but you dont out of your line or any line from a said dog im sorry pal but its just unbelievable i have been around terriers most of my life and its a sad fact that not every one bred with the best intentions works maybe you have some thing special but surely the others who have bred a lot more than any of us by know should have cracked it and can now breed 100% workers from every litter Quote Link to post
