how accurate are you with a spring airgun?

Recommended Posts

hi all

Just wont to know what youre group size is with a spring airgun in .22 at 30-35 yards

pic's of your targets will be good ;)

Dunno at 30 to 35 yards, but I recently purchased a 2nd user SMK19. When I fired a few test shots in my garden, it put pellet on pellet and heres the proof! (incidently I was GOBSMACKED at the accuracy for such a kick) :clapper:

Fired into a big block of hard wax @ about 20 meters

Shots taken standing, as I dont shoot any other way (yet)

Bet Couldnt do it again ;)

i know i can hit a skeet clay with a springer at around 40 yards but that may just be a glanceing blow so i would say bout 2" to be on the modest side. thats with a RWS 45 with a 3-9X40AO nikko stirling mildot. the gun has a boat load of recoil, much prefer my PCP but still good lil fun/back-up/rat gun

Horses for Courses my friend. No doubt starting off with a springer gives you good technique (breathing and gettin a good shot (no silencer on the springer and pretty noisy))

PCP are easier to shoot in my veiws so well done to those who get good results with a springer

Hi there,

Yeah your right about the ease of using a PCP, but the real deals about being able to use springer's as well, and if you get it right with a springer the chances are you'll be even better with a PCP, lol,, here,s a little test I did today, I was using a FAC rated springer .22 @ 22.5 FPE with H&N field & target, centre group at 30 yards light breeze, bottom right 40 yards slightly breezier, not bad for kneeling and resting shots, and that's the picture of the bad boy that done it,, all the best,

Rob,

I can shoot shots into a 1" square at 30 yards leaning on a wall. and can hit old pellet tins standing at 35 every time. been zeroing for my silencer on the BSA so im practiced at targets right now. my groups are not good any further than 35 with a lean. start to drop at 40 cos im zeroed for 30.
