mat p 0
cant seem 2 find it as any 1 got any ideas could u give me a link 2 it i hit her the other night but ive just read thats not the way ow shud i do it its really annoying ??? hi sonny hitting the dog is never going be the way forward infact youll be lucky get the dog back at all my mate had a dog that worked up on the lamp he started by taking it out in the day and keeping it on a leash letting it off every now and then and rewarding the dog when he came back the penny droped after a couple of sessions it sounds like your dog just needs a little work but if you hit it evertime it runs it wont be long before it gives up running full stop patiance is the key with this mate dont worry if it fucks up the odd night its a learning curve for you both! enjoy it and goodluck Quote Link to post

ulverston moocher 60
i suppose he will think every time he cums back he will get a clout so u think best way is let him off the lead and call him back and then reward him thanks sonny alright mate a horse lunnging lead(or a long bit of rope about 60 yards) can be good to train a dogs recall let dog run and when it gets to about 50 yrds call dog back when it comes back reward it if it doesnt it gets to end of rope give it a short sharp tug then pull it back in to you. saw this method on a dog training web site when I had dog that wouldnt come back on first call worked for me. mat p 0
i suppose he will think every time he cums back he will get a clout so u think best way is let him off the lead and call him back and then reward him thanks sonny yeh along them lines the thing is he cant see what hes doing wrong hes chasing whatever you slip him on then when he comes back he gets a slap he dosnt know he supposed to come straight back now if it was my dog he wouldnt run again as he sulks but if its an head strong cross he wont bat an eye lid if you smack it kick it or anything else head strong dogs need lots more training to get [bANNED TEXT] so id tend to back off the lamping till you get this retrieve problem sorted first then ease him into lamping dont be to hasty it took my mates dog 6 months catch he was 16 months he caught a rabbit it retrieved it to hand so 6 months of trying and he never forgot that retrieve training my advise is stick at him and when he comes good you can give yourself a pat on the back if all dogs did everything [bANNED TEXT] from the off then bringing a pup on wouldnt be half the fun! you get out what you put in good luck sonny and as i said enjoy it when it comes good!
