Lurcherlovr 0
I got the farmer to agree to let my dogs walk without a muzzle, and the first thing that my dogs did was catch a grey Squirrel, I've got some photos of her Squirrel and a cut where the Squirrel bit her, but is it legal, as they are kind of like rats, does anyone know? Lurcherlovr 0
Oh ok just thought that I would ask, it was the first time that the farmer said that he would give in and let them walk without muzzles and she did that Quote Link to post
Sterry 0
I personally would have thought that the government would be all in favour of gettin rid of grey squirrels being such a pest. But i dont make the laws, and i dont condone anyone who breaks the law, its just bad press for our sport Quote Link to post
Lurcherlovr 0
I didn't do it on purpose, I just let them off like normal and they flushed it out and caught it, there not even workers, just got a bit over excited at things as they haven't been able to run off lead for a week as new farm stock where put up there. Be carefull incase the fuzz are reading this Take an air rifle with you, Problem solved I know a lot of people with them, and got my phone out to ring one, as he was around shooting anyway, when I got my phone out she had caught it and was bringing it back alive, and then it bit her and then she went mental at it, by the time he picked up his phone it was too late, the squirrel was gone some where else, the farmer never had a gun either Quote Link to post
Tyla 3,179
Dont worry about it, these things happen. By law i believe you are supposed to take the corpse to the police station and make a statement explaining how the incident happened. in reality i cant imagine my local cop shop being pleased to see anyone toting a dead rodent and wanting to tell them a story about it Just enjoy your walks and enjoy having the dogs off their leads and remember any rats or rabbits they kill is good, anything else was shot first. chartpolski 23,046
Sorry to be pedantic Tyla; but rats and rabbits are NOT legal quarry for dogs..... UNLESS you have written permission ! Don't give them ANY excuse to arrest you... because they will ! Cheers. Quote Link to post

I don't think anywhere would want a dead squirrel on their desk, Does anyone know why its legal for rats though and not squirrels? Quote Link to post
