Pigeon Controller 1
After having limited catches with a dozen home made snares made out of picture hanging wire I decided to buy 500 grams of brass wire and 100 brass eyelets from Euroguns at Doncaster. The problem is that the wire is single stranded. Can I use it single or is it best to twist it up with five stands and then add the eyelet? I've looked at the utube and in america they make the snare out of single strand. Is there a link to a page on how to twist the wire etc . As its pouring with rain here at the momement I can not go shooting I might as well get in the shed and make up some snares. I would appretiate any constructive advice. Thanks Pigeon Controller Quote Link to post

Thanks Pigeon Controller Hi Mate, You want six strands for rabbits, ie 3 strands doubled. All will become clear if you read the pinned sections at the top on the snaring section, and as mentioned you can contact Woodga, as he does an excellent DVD on snare making and snaring. Good luck, ian. Quote Link to post
Sterry 0
I've made fox snares out of bike brake cable and some copper pipe crimped to make a loop, i refused to travel miles for one spool of snare wire or pay over the odds, seems to work, just wont last that long wouldnt think.
