undisputed 1,664
Finally had a decent nights lamping for a change following a week and a half of frost. Went to a place we know that generally used to hold hundreds of bunnies. Unfortunately that wasn't to be the case tonight never really saw that many but the two young dogs did well considering what was about. Anythingoes was with me with his dog Mist and I really have to mention this dog's striking technique which is excellent she seems to scoop them up running at full pelt and makes it look effortless. My pup on the other hand is like a bull in a china shop but to be fair to him he did better than I expected. Anyway we had a grand total of 9 tonight. It's early days still but young Floydy has earned himself a wee repreive for awhile and we'll see what happens next time out. Quote Link to post

dogs-n-natives 1,182
I also got out last night, started snowing heavily though, had to give up with nothing in the bag as it soon got like a heavey blizzard! The snow has lay all day here too, had some great hunting today, cant really go into it much, but was a cracking day! Wont be out tonight, dog too tired!! Hopefully the land will stay unfrozen for a while longer, and we can all get some decent lamping in with the mutts!! Quote Link to post
undisputed 1,664
So hes running how????? LMAO I know mate I'm as surprised as anyone....we went to our spot Friday afternoon and took the ferrets with the intention of bolting bunnies for the dogs. Pretty uneventful and we only managed one during the day. The pup had a half hearted attempt at one that bolted but never got near it before it went back in the nearest hole. I wasn't looking forward to lamping but he surprised me by catching 3 outa 3 to start with then another two later on that night. I think the problem may be that he needs room to manouver and not short runs were the bunny hits the fence and is gone. Anyway as I said he's earned a wee repreive and I need to get him out more but the problem is lack of places to lamp rabbits in great numbers...we struggle on lol :o Quote Link to post

Its freezing over as I type this and foggy so need a turn in the weather, but at least your getting out and doing the bizz Quote Link to post
