doxhope 2
I take them off all my lurchers, but leave them on my deerhounds...... Quote Link to post
Guest CharlieC
I always take hind ones off as they are all but useless, and are attatched much more loosely than front ones, but I rarely get them on my pups anyway. The front ones I leave on, theyre there for a reason - Im not a big fan of chopping any bits of dogs whether it be tails, dewclaws, balls or anything else I like to see them as nature intended. I have seen a dog with an injured dewclaw, but then Ive also seen dogs with injured legs, bodies and heads, and you dont chop those bits off just incase they might get injured Quote Link to post
Guest nastybilly
heads and legs they need charlie, dewclaws are an avoidable accident waitin to happen, any iv had with dewclaws auld pal, have spent more time off than wi any other injury, but its got a lot to do wi the ground i work them on, as you likly know...yes charlie GET THEM OFF i say...lmao as a matter of interest doxhope, why leave them on your deerhounds? Guest CharlieC
Ive never had any dewclaw injuries with any of my present collie crosses, so I prefer to leave them on Quote Link to post
