What moderator?

Just purchased a new Weihrauch 99s, spring .22

 

Does anyone have any experience of putting a moderator on one of these, is it going to make a noticeable difference to reducing the sound?

With a moderator on the muzzle crack should be significantly reduced but i've never put one on a 99, it shouldn't be too difficult though

Mods make far more difference to pcp's that springers.

That said, all my springers have had silencers

When shooting a silenced springer you are too close to hear the difference. But silencers do work for spring guns.

just put an evolution on mine.it came up cheap,(normally use HW silencers)and my 95k is a lot quieter.
