  • 4 weeks later...

Got the dates in front of me guys

National Countrysports Fair at Moira Demesne, Co. Down on 23 & 24 May

Irish National country Fair at Ballinlough Castle, Co Westmeath on 18 & 19 July

Like Foxgun Tom says, its the same guys who run the Moira event who are running the Ballinlough Castle one so you know it will be a quality show with loads of stands and competitions. I hear they have nearly 200 stands booked. Wow!

Is it Gilford Terrier and Lurcher Club running the events At Balllinlough. This is usually the best run show at a Game Fair. Will the Peasants of country sports be given a better site at Ballinlough rather than a corner in a rutted field I wonder.

was there a strong dogs class at moire

The Gilford Club are running the Moira event and will be taking a lead role at Ballinlough according to Justin Hill from the club.

They choose the site for their events at Moira to ensure the handlers are close to their cars which is a wise move, especially if he weather is hot.

Don't think it's quite a rutted field although about three years ago it was pretty wet and there were some ground problems generally.

But, hell....... this is Ireland, we are used to the wet!

I'll tell you what I'll do. I will speak to the organisers for you.

I suspect they will say it is located there to give the handlers easy access to their vehicles which is a fair enough comment.

Rolling the ground is not a problem. I am sure the Council have rollers for that job and they are the main sponsors of the event.

Sometimes its a case of not being able to please everyone. Compromise is good though.

As for winning nothing..........sorry Lamper nothing I can do for you there!!!!!
