Beardie lurchers

mate my grandads was a herd on my mothers side long before messers like plummer were born no merle in them and shorter coats than these furry balls a bit like a lakeland coat , your qouting out a book graham most beardies localy and in other parts are solid coulors i live in the scottish borders mate and hunted it along time long before the meesers started breeding silly merles for coulor etc yearsa go beardies were blue red and the odd black and white one not silly harlequins merles etc , you make me spew as i am scotsman and no people who have workers and never heard of plummer etc nothing against thoerists but i am pratical and saw good dogs there a man in my village had one he worked the hill he said it was abastard if it got out it would work sheep other peoples and hers them back to you as they hunt away further , not like some poxy we border who looks at you for every command to please , my colli line of running dogs have a bit beadi as they work away and are spitefull and game for anything at times to game

whats famous about, it marc c glenns beardie from steel of denny was more famous he produced good lurchers who got to the nlrc finals and singly took roe hares fox and rabbits he was avery good little dog , he was less long coated more wiry but was agood little hunter , dbp was a messer met him several times he was aliar the book merle was lies and a theotrical dreamer , were you there when he tried to do a public speach on hunting in the amman valley , the worst thing he done was to go public with real knowegble guys like myself d harcombe d slieght , it was ajoke fiasco at the forum we cALLED IT ,plummer hoodwinked every body to think the merle lurchers were great they were not some were good but , he pushed it on people then when people realised they were not the bees knees they bred there own types , they bred non worker to non worker honestly

Must be cross bred back along, to a breed that carries the merle gene....

rules are made to be broken or i wouldnt have half the dogs i have if i never strayed , no i live in the borders andd hunted it for twenty odd years and there were working beardies long before me from scotland and all they are is working dogs no silver on a seat in the garden, but a dog thta can perform and live in a kennel get sheared when the sheep get sheard etc , no massive furry balls or merles sycophants just plain ole working dogs mate ,bred IN SCOTLAND to do a job , not some back garden breeder to make a buck , cant beat the old strains of workingg beardies more like a terreir in nature but with a herding nature

If you read the articles about I’ve covered most of what you spout, I suppose the Silver Merles Tom Muirhead had in his Kennels in the Sixties didn’t exist.

Second to none! They are a true working lurcher, give you there all, and have balls of steel. Will tackle anything you put in front of them, and are very easy to train.

a true working beardie is self coulored same a working deerhound simlair coulor , there more than tom muirhead honestly thats old name from plummers book steel of denny no merle nobles of broughton not pure beardie , the only reason i can see beardies TRUE WORKING SCOTTISH BEARDIES haveing merle in them is to give them eye , and more breeeding i dont rate merle as a coulor on dogs, had them, they look nice, but no better than black and white, brindle etc , i done rabbit control on the hills of lauder all round that area and saw a few working beardie s and crosses , ive worked beardies on rabbs in weather that my other dogs would go down hill , all i see is writing about a dog that existed in SCOTLAN long before the SIXTIES , so whats the answer have you enterd anyhting with your beasries or caught much game with them as im only ontrested what they can do in afeild thtas were it happens for me

no the wont mate, had them on the big stubbles of eastlothain and on strong winter hares tioled and in september running stubble after stubble thye blew up with the heat but on a hill ferreting maybe catching the odd roe hare rabbits are good and foxes , ive saw [bANNED TEXT] good ones and were good but saw lots of shite from plummers and hanckcockers kennels a dog only need so much fur as thye heat up quck and tadaeda weight ie big wolly coat doesnt hep it run but for rabbiting on the hills were i used to go they were the best
