Fieldsports 155
Hellow. I will just stick a post up to pick your brains here. I have just changed my scope on a CZ 452 to a 4x12x50 and the set up was not that bad ( well the way I do it ) Where I go Rabbits are a bit spooky so they tend to sit nice about -100 yds so I thought I would get a better look at the target with a 12X zoom. So, to zero at yds at the size of a penny constant took a few shots ! Do you lot just do it like me or use a bore sighter ? I have seen these for sale and to be honest I ain't used them, how good are they ? Do they really work to zero a rifle in at yds + ? Thanks lads and lases.....Steve Edited December 10, 2008 by Fieldsports Quote Link to post

clivej 0
As far as I can work it out.... A bore sighter will give you a lazor dot on paper as if looking down the bore of a gun. The scope cross hair will then have to be moved to that red dot. BUT it will not allow for the drop of the bullet over the range that the paper target is at, you would have to dial that in from a ballistics drop chart. Or do what I do and centre the cross hairs of the scope, mount the scope, dial in the scope height from the bore, dial in the bullet drop and let off a round. I have just put a scope on my new CZ 223 and was only 4" low and 1" right @100m for the first shot. easy to dial in the rest from there. See here on centering a scopes cross hairs IT's VERY GOOD. http://boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055431546 Edited December 9, 2008 by clivej Quote Link to post
Huffski 1
The gunsmith dialed mine in using this gadget. But that was just to get it rough i then went out took some shot and dialed it in from there just goto your gunsmiths to get it rough instead of makin g them v blocks and buggering about Quote Link to post

shottyscotty 3
i think he means using 243 because bullets are pricey and wont be much meat left after the shot (messy) should get clean kills though. Edited December 10, 2008 by shottyscotty Quote Link to post
