will.f11 24
I do a fair amount on common land, but dad is a commoner. But my friends which arent still do. I think you would probably get permission though if you ask the owner

will.f11 24
well there is here, there are 2 main landowners on the moor, they own ALL common land, just rent it to the commoners so i understand
Netter 0
As far as I'm aware, EVERY single square metre of Britain is owned by somebody, whether common land or not.
will.f11 24
thats what i thought, common is just a way of renting it to farmers, you have to have commoners rights to graze cattle etc on it.
paddy.t 5
Its a woodland behind a council owned park, i know council dont owt it ive spoke to someone about that. its not grazed or anything like that
stubby 175
if its classed as common land, it will have rules, the same as parks and gardens, most state no hunting, no metal detecting, no digging etc etc, you'll find out from the local council, not knowing is not an excuse
Guest night time my time
THE LAND CAN NOT BE OWNED,ONLY GRAZEING RIGHTS OR THE RIGHT TO TAKE HAY,IT IS ILEAGLE TO FENCE OR DITCH ANY COMMON LAND ALTHOUGH MOST FARMERS GET AWAY WITH IT,BY LAW YOU ARE NOT EVEN ALOUD TO BREAK THE SERFICE OF COMMON LAND, BE IT WITH A SPADE OR EVEN A LEKY FENCE POST,DONT BOTHER REPORTING IT. THERES DIFFERNT LAWS FOR LAND OWNERS IN THIS COUNTRY,LOTS OF COMMON LAND HAS ALREADY DISAPEARED INTO LARGE FARMS OR GOLF COURSES,EVEN HOUSING ESTATES,NOTICE THE SIGNS WHEN DRIVEING ROUND, EG; WHITE HORSE COMMON,THE NAME OF ONE BUILT UP COMMON ROUND HERE THAT GONE FOREVER,THERE ARE MENY IF YOU LOOK AT HOUSEING ESTATE NAMES OR FOLLOW THE COMMON LANE SIGNS ETC,,,
