Mitch 0
Hey guys I got woodgas DVD Cheers Woodga And i struggled with finding some brass wire at the correct gauge. However i found some copper and have decided to use that. Unfortunatly the batteries on my camera gone, but i will have pics up soon of the ones i have made. Here are my qtns, I cant get hold of decent eyelets, so i have bent an eye out of the wire. Just by running it around a pencil, Will this suffice? I would also like to know the difference in using the Single strand tealers and the Fig 4 tealers. My guess was the fig 4 tealers are just alot more heavy duty. However over here i have made single strand tealers as the fig 4 's would not push in the ground very well. I have used 3 strands of copper wire, and slightly spun it together, (like when you buy cable) spun to about that tension. Pics will show... I appreciate all you help guys Quote Link to post
woodga 170
mitch your right about the tealers the single tealer works well in firmer ground and is easy to set the figure 4 tealer in soft grond stops the snare moving a round if it gets windy an eyelet twisted onto the end of your snare will work fine no problems there only worry i have is the fact your using three strands of copper seems a bit thin to me with out actually seeing the snare . when you spin the wire have you got a nice light tension on the snare ?try a few out and see the results first before you make a good few for future use. i have copper snares made from 1.5mm copper wire after the plastic coat is removed there are seven thin strands in the cable and when spun in make a really effective snare see if you can get some of that because iv used that for years and i have hare snares made out of it over three years old and they still work as good as the day i made them good luck [bANNED TEXT] GOOD HUNTING ALL WOODGA  Quote Link to post
Mitch 0
Thats exact the stuff i have Woodga, but i though 7 was too thick so i took some out, But its ok i will make 7 strands in future. Here is the pics Quote Link to post
woodga 170
mitch that seven strand stuff is excellent only one problem with your tealer the eye of the tealer wants to be facing the other way so when you attach your peg and twine it catches the twist and is pulling away from the snare hope you know what i mean good hunting all wooga  Quote Link to post
