Brocc 0
So to become a Terrier Man, one has to show his so called Game dogs in action, doing Earth work. I don't think so Most of the guys I know are very private and never boast about there digs. Any outsiders would never know what the dog and master are about to encounter. Quote Link to post

Guest SPIFF
I don t postmuch anymore for various reasons but i have noticed that a lot of the threads are a bit daft.B&T has a lot to offer and while we ve had a bit of slagging in the past it was taken in the spirit it was given.E Mc has a lot to offer LiamD from what ive read also. Not excluding anyone else as there are plenty of good knowledgable members with lots to offer but most don t bother because of nasty comments for no reason. Also Niel C has good comments which fall on deaf ears often about pics which shouldn t be put up.This IS an open site.Open to authorities antis rspca and DOG THIEVES therefore imo dogs seen working ,dogs injured are playing into the authorities hands and pics are hard evidence as to what you are at,considering the grey legislation some have to deal with. Why not invite all the members here out for a dig to see where you hunt and your dogs etc etc. However any genuine questions SHOULD be answered by more knowledgable fellas.OMO Quote Link to post

Scallywag 78
I've said before on here that I'd give anything to have a good earth dog but I'm too old, fat and female to be digging for terriers myself. But I love to read about other peoples' digs, it gives me a lot of pleasure. I have enormous respect for the dogs and love to see photos of them too. So what if I stick the occasional photo of my unmarked bushing terrier up on the odd thread, just to participate a bit? I love her and I'm proud of her for doing her bit! I know there are risks when you put stuff up on this forum but I'd be sorry if you all disappeared to some exclusive club and I didn't get to read about your days out lads Quote Link to post

Guest SPIFF
Why not invite all the members here out for a dig to see where you hunt and your dogs etc etc and have some go back to your permission behind your back ?, and steal your dogs ? plenty wrong ones on here. That was hypothetical, people don t post because of that reason Quote Link to post

Any outsiders would never know what the dog and master are about to encounter. I WILL SAY AGAIN FOR THOSE WHO ARE BANGING ON ABOUT PICS. I HAVE SAID NOTHING ABOUT POSTING PICS OF YOUR DOGS. I HAVE MENTIONED POSTING MEANINGFUL INFORMATIVE AND INTERESTING POSTS NOT MUCH TO ASK FOR. IF SOMEONE WANTS TO POST PICS TO ACCOMPANY THEIR THREAD THEN THAT IS THEIR OWN CHOICE. AND AS FOR BOASTING?? I.M.O IT'S NOT HARD TO SPOT A THREAD THAT IS GENUINE HONNEST READING AND 1 THAT IS BULLSHIT. I THINK IT'S FAIR TO SAY THAT MOST HAVE READ AT LEAST 1 BOOK ABOUT TERRIERWORK. IT'S NOT HARD TO PUT AN ACCOUNT OF YOUR DAYS HUNTING INTO WORDS WITHOUT BOASTING. MAYBE I'M WRONG???? Quote Link to post
Guest blackntan
first and formost there must be quite a lot of people who read the diggings threads and think not putting anything on there as i will get savaged by the members , not all people are articulate and might find it hard to put an acount together , the pros and cons of terrier work have been argued for donkeys years , nothing new there , exept this format reaches a world wide aurdience , wether you put an acount of a dig that ended up with a bolt or a stop end its all worth reading , people from finlad to america how cosmipolitan is that , i read them all with interest , even the sqaberling over types of terriers its been done before and will be again wether on here or in a pub, its banter , to the know it alls i hope the day never comes when i know it all i like to listern and learn , To the people starting out get out there and work your terriers you will make mistakes every one has they will be nothing that some one else has not already done , if every one was an expert what a boring place it would be ,encouragement not punishent Quote Link to post
