Guest gazza
At light welter i would give ricky more than a punchers chance , paqi is outstanding at lightwelter and throws a higher rate of shots but at light welter i think ricky could just nick it think he has one big fight left in him wont be easy thou have to agree wae you there bnt hatton defo the best light welter in the world.he just doesnt carry the weight when he steps up even thou hes only lost to the best welter weight there is. gnasher16 30,598
Just to clarify a point,Hatton is not a concussive puncher and never has been,he usually grinds down his opponents and that wont happen against Pacquiao.Sure he works well to the body and is usally active for 12 rounds, but Pacquiao is a proven knockout artist.Everyone has there own ideas of how a fight will turn out and my view is that if Ricky trys to stand toe to toe with Pacquiao he'll get ko'd.As for predictions on the Pacquiao v De La Hoya fight, i thought Oscar would stop Pacquiao and that if he never it would get interesting. P.S im a Ricky fan. Bills right hattons not a known knockout puncher and pacquaio is....but the question is whether pacquaio carries that punch up in weight,by the fight against delahoya id say maybe he doesnt as he caught him flush plenty of times and only moved him towards the end....its tricky to tell how good pcquaio is at the heavier weight as delahoya was just a dead body and you cant make too much judgement on pacquaio on that fight...i for one always liked delahoya but i lost all respect for him in this fight he conned the public with this so called superfight. I think if hattons not too much past his peak and can get himself into top condition mentally and physically he can beat pacquaio.....

And i could beat muhammed ali if i fought him tomorrow, does that make me a great fighter....i wouldnt say pacquaio carried the weight excellently he didnt knock out a finished fighter and he didnt have to take a shot so like i said its hard to make judgement....delahoya was as finished as finished can be,taking a finished fighter back to school doesnt impress me one bit....hattons a pressure fighter not a knockout puncher....knockout punchers are usually known for early round knockouts where they have caught somebody with 1 solid shot which hatton is not really known for. Brimmer 220
Course Hatton's a knockout puncher, he just hit's bits that don't get knocked out, and get's knockouts! Ask anybody who's been in the ring what hurts most, one in the ribs or one in the skull? Hatton rd 9. (but it will be real scrappy!)
Guest lurcherboy2008
put pacman in the ring with mayweather then lets see what he can do, mayweather would destroy the man

gnasher16 30,598
how many hatton fights you watched? Well he first caught my eye when he was on an undercard fight down here at the york hall must of been around 99/2000....so probably about 30 !
gnasher16 30,598
The difference is mate a knockout punch you know nothing about so of course it doesnt hurt....a hard body shot is real physical pain theres a big difference....hatton throws a great body shot but is not a concussive knockout puncher, dont take my word for it check his record over the last 6 or 7 years !....if he was a knockout puncher there would be plenty of 1 and 2 round knockouts....theres not....doesnt make him any less of a fighter though. trader 0
hattons never been a knockout merchant, hes not a headhunter, his whole style of fighting starts with bodyshots and that starts the combinations, from then on the head shots follow. its not until hes sunk a good body shot he switches to the head,p sses me off when you see the tabloids with headlines eg RICKY FATTON etc his record speaks for its self yet we get the bolton bullshit in the ring and they(the tabloids/british public) big him up as though hes a great prospect- is he f k
speedy 0
its a fair fight i think if it happens but i'll be suprised if floyd mayweather junior doesnt appear out of the blue and take the fight away from hatton. manny has been stopped and dropped to the floor and i believe hatton has the power if he delivers good body shots to stop manny, but if mannys dazzling footwork and hand work happens if the hatton fight does happen then i worry for hattons head as he cant move it fast enough these days and will get jabbed to frustration. i hope it happens, but im almost sure PBF will be in the headlines soon and have that fight with manny sealed for vegas or new york... Was thinking similar myself speedy only my thoughts are he will take the winner of a Pacquaio/Hatton fight in another megabucks fight....think he would beat them both at the same time myself but i imagine thats the order it will pan out. Guest blackntan
all are light welters over the last few years have all been body punchers and in fighters holligan, neary, and hatton all very similar styles , the yanks have all ways produced more stylish jabbing type boxers , this is not to detract from any of are boxer skills its just the way it is , the mex influence on the American fight seen has played at great part in this ,
