Cover ALL skin and move gently whatever, those pigeon are easily spooked!!! Quote Link to post

Shooter08 0
yeah mate that always happens, some will fly and some will sit tight,... and get shot lol next time you see one left on its own, see how close you can get to it lol! i bet its closer than 25-30yards lol Quote Link to post
Fidgety 8
Best to hide up within range of their favourite sitting tree. Cover everything and keep still. Bit of observation prior to a shoot will pay off. Quote Link to post

When I turn up they all leg it big time, that's why they have survived this long and why I favour the 12g in Semi Auto...at least I can get one or 2 more as they dissapear!! Also remember you can always try decoying and /or baiting even for the air rifle Quote Link to post

Guest air gunner
I have to say hides work a treat. after getting very frustrated at the birds flying off when walking i built a hide and sure enough you get much better shot options and chances. The only problen is it feels like a big waste of time sitting doing jack shit for 2 hours! its soo boring untill you get a shot then you know why you wait and pigeon doesent taste rough in a nice wrap. Adam-RunningDog 1
Well i always find sitting and waiting a painful business but yesterday was about to zero the gun in and a pigeon landed about 40 yards away maybe a little less but i knew the gun was near enough smack on so i thought may aswell and aimes for his neck rather than his head bit of an easier target but it was leaning forward so as i pulled the trigger it got up properly and then heard the "THUD" pigeon just dropped stone cold dead, i was shocked thought it went strait through his neck and sorted him out there and then job done, got to the bird couldnt see no blood was shocked thought heart attack, then had a closer examin i had shot him straight theought the wing all the way though his chest and out the other side, i thought god that shouldnt of happened and my gun hasnt been fidled its the air arms s200 so it cant be fiddled but when i baught the pellets earlier that day me and a friend were saying god thier small they where ( HN field target trophies) so im getthing these from now on the penatration on them is amazing, so i think i will get the gun chronoed this week some time to be safe than sorry, no one shout at me for taking a stupid shot it was spure of the moment. Peace out Adam Quote Link to post
