Well it looks like the Inevitable has happend and a bird has been found with the bird flu virus In scotland, I now expect this shithole government to press all the panic buttons and put a *** on all poultry and bird movement in this country, this means no Day Old Chicks lads , I think we'll see alot of silly decisions being made in the next few days.

I am already covering my avairys over ,some of them are 30ft long going to cost me fortune!!

Im also on migration route & we have wild fowl all over estate ,I have stopped all deliveries to the centre

& rigged up powerwasher with disinfectent for staff cars.

If the worst happens thats us shut down !! no income

Well the shits hit the fan but hell it cant be that bad,i covered my aviaries as a precaution before i put the birds down to moult and plans are already in place for a disinfectant bath for wellies going in and out.Although the panic buttons been pressed i,m still staying optimistic about hunting next season and hopefully this crap will all blow over by then, till then best of luck and i,ll hopefully not be the only hunter next season.

What a fecking nightmare! you can pretty much Guarantee like Harrishawker21 said that all the panic buttons will be pressed by the shit Govenment and DEFRA will add restriction after restriction after restriction, I can see it being simular to how they reacted to Foot and Mouth with the cows a few years back. I have no problem if I breed X amount of Peregrines or Harris's as these will keep in Nursery aviaries should DEFRA place restrictions on all movement! but if I breed X amount of Goshawks there'll be trouble if not shifted by a certain age, they won't tollerate each other's company much passed the penning stage, females will chase male's and in the end will kill one, even female clutch sisters will knock seven shades out of each other smashing feathers and doing damage to each other, the birds are like hunting machines intent on killing and doing damage to one another, restrictions on Import/Export is inevitable but if they stick restrictions on all movement of birds in this country it could prove very costly :icon_eek:.

What good are restrictions rearly going to do ?its the wild birds they carnt stop these from migrating over to uk its going to be about for years !! Big worry for you tony & commercial breeders about young birds??

Im wanting to know what the restrictions are? Are we at risk by having public view birds in centre all defra have told me is that its up to individual person to act how he feels accordingly? on bio-security if i shut centre how do we live & afford to keep feeding bop no win situation! :realmad:

Its a nightmare Mick.

I have been speaking to a breeder tonight who basis nearley all his stock on the export market, By the sounds of what he is saying he expected to be fecked this year when DEFRA stop twidling their thumbs and come up with some totally unusable crap decision, I'll be Honest if I end up with Gos's smashing themselves up and half killing each other I'll release them if restrictions stop me from moveing them to perspective buyers, its our food sources which is a worry also! Poultry is the first thing that will be hit.

Cheers
