problem with terrier

16 mth old got it from a lad looked wormy so drontalled him was fine put the weight on nice now he seems to of lost weight again but everyso often wretches then brings up clear liquid with bit of white in it his shits are hard and hes eatin well jumps up at pen doort when im in the yard but isnt keen as normal when walkin him ? anyone know what it cud be ??

did he pass many worms after worming? if he had a heavy infestation it could of caused damage to the lining of the stomach, had this with a bitch pup i was given some years back, put her on a very simple diet for a month or so and she came right.

Drontal information

 

Depending on what type of Drontal you used, he might have tapeworm (white bits in poo could be segments?). Different wormers do different worms.

 

Also animals from different areas bring different infestations too (well, they do in horses, that's for sure!).

 

I would use a broad spectrum wormer coz you may not have nuked everything or take a sample of his poo down to the vet for analysis.

what do you feed this dog on ? get a broad spectrum wormer thats does the lot worm the dog then feed him on a bland diet ie chichen and rice for a few days and then worm him again and go back to your normal feed if this persists get a blood sample done as he may have kidney problems , all the best top

HE COULD WELL HAVE ROUND WORM OR SOME CALL THEM HOOK WORM AS IN PUPS I HAVE SEEN LOTS OF DOGS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM AS YOU SAY YOUR DOG IS HAVEING BY TRYING TO RECH THEY CAN GET STUCK IN THE THROAT AND THAT IS WHY HE IS RECHING SOME PUPS IF EVERLY INFESTED WHEN WORMING WILL PASS THEM BOTH ENDS SO DO HIM AGAIN FOR ROUND WORM AND AGAIN IN ABOUT TEN DAYS TO CLEAR ALL THE EGGS .
