kirstysdad 827
young dog is trying to be top dog with the older one you may have to bite bullet and pass one on unless you can kennel them seperatly by sounds of things getting more intense are they dogs or bitches as bitches tend to be worse and hold a grudge be careful or you may end up with one being killed Quote Link to post

mad al 146
The old dog is never gonna give in to the youngster, so you have two choices I'd say. You could decide to keep just the one, or you could step in and sort the pair of them out, doesn't always work though as it depends on the breed, dogs nature and how you handle it. I've had this bringing two male Shar Pei's (not at the same time) into our Gaff that had a male Rottie who already ruled the domain. Both breeds very powerful and potentially aggressive. This was not an easy task I can tell you, the first one was bad enough, but the second was a very different kettle of fish, the Shar Pei is possibly the most determined dog I have ever seen and thank God our Rottie is not aggressive to the point of "feck this you are about to die" and will just hold his attacker until help (me) arrives. This has been a very long haul with continual on going input that is getting less by the day. One question, are they worse when you or someone else is about, I ask as what I have found is that when you take the human out of the situation, they are far happier. If you are to have a go at sorting it, distraction, water, noise etc is a good base camp. I have tried quite a few things from water to the present day "tool", which is a plastic emergency whistle that is used on ships, I only have to pick it up if I see one of the dogs not listening. The thing I think that adds fuel to the fire is the dogs can also sense your unrest with the atmos. between them. Quote Link to post

nguruve 2
any dog fighting issue can be sorted with the right training just consistancy make one dog submit to the other so there is a pecking order this can be done in diffrent ways for diffrent dogs and takes repetition lie one dog on its back and let the less aggressive dog sniff and move around the dog on its back putting a dog in a submissive possition will alter its state of mind to submission but only do this when they are both calm not then they are all rowed up and it will take a while of doing this to sort it out best of luck mate ive had the same problem with dogs in the past but they were my bull terriers and weren't worked Quote Link to post

spindolero 1,111
Blacks from a working line will be fiery and not prone to giving in. That's what they were bred to be like. It may settle down but you probably won't be able to trust them not to kick off again. Quote Link to post
