OldTrapCollector 377
Why bother with all the effort making them when a simple wire hoop does the job as well?? OTC Quote Link to post
Guest jbswildlife
Why bother with all the effort making them when a simple wire hoop does the job as well?? OTC its stronger does not need a pegs and has the snare attached, with the side legs it goes in to the correct level everytime and can be pushed in using feet when ground is frozen. why not Quote Link to post
mackem 26,683
What does it weigh JBS?Hoops take seconds to cut and bend, blend in,and are very effective, have you had anything using your metal hoops? Quote Link to post

I can carry ten in each hand. because the snare is attached its only a matter of stopping and pushing it into the ground and walk on. you could put 20 down in less than 5 min. above photo is the first time in the ground so we will have to wait and see. might crash and burn or work. will post the out-come Quote Link to post

micky 3,325
made some of these. dont know if they will pass the legal test but needs tried let you know if it catch's anything Dont try dont get , and i wish you luck for your efforts, but you would be better off using the proper hoops that are cheap to make, light, flexable, and above all tried and tested by older hands who may be a little more expierenced than your self. Micky the whole idea of this is not to be light and flexible. Ive looked at the other designs. What Im doing is several reasons. main one is it cant be budged only movement is upwards. (this is to stop cattle kicking it over. or a small dog running being caught. the next reason is I want to be able to barcode these for recording purpose(as the new laws in scotland require this) this way i can produce a unit that has data rather than in my defence a pegged snare and a thin wire loop.
