Kye 77
Well that skinny twat Socks has been given me info on a few training routines, and my progress is as follows.. I have been doing weights since i was about 14-15 years old, and when i turnt 19-20 i started training real hard...but because i didnt get enough rest, and my nutrison was poor (due to lack of funds!) i feel that i didnt achieve my full potential.. When i came to america, i took a little break from the weights, mainly to soak it all up,...the lifestyle change, culuture etc.. But after a while i got back to it, and started doing a little running and push-ups etc...i got in "shape" and i could run 15 miles no bother, and i was doing alot of spearfishing...because of the heavy cardio i was doing, i think it helped my lungs...i got to the point that i could make kills at depths of 25-30 feet, and i was spending roughly 45 minutes out of an hour under water.. Although very fit, i wasnt the shape/strength/size to go down the route i am know travelling and compete at a level that i feel i can,..so its back to the weights, and training for mass/bulk at the moment... When i started out lifting heavy again (about seven weeks ago know) i struggled with 90lbs flat bench..lol. Last night i lifted 210lbs for 4 x 8...before i started training my chest was 40"...last night it was 44.5"...ive gone from 168lbs, to 190lbs, in just seven weeks...although i feel the main reason is my great diet and at the moment and i can rest more, the training routine i got from the ole Taff has helped!...the only thing im struggling with is my legs...strength has increased, but they are reluctant to increase in size...maybe due to all the swimming/running i used to do?.... So at the moment im making good gains, and im gonna wait until i get to 205-210lbs, then maybe try and loose a little fat and see what i have...then if im not happy, im gonna try and get back to basic and heavy again!.. Thanks again mate.. Kye,..

Kye 77
Hi Millet,.. Been taking some calcium and cod liver oil,...joints feel great so far mate,...fingers crossed they stay like that!..lol. Hi ORT,.. Yeah, i drank half the bloody lake getting there...had two real bad SWB (shallow water black outs)...i was knocked out under water, through not getting enough blood, and diving to fast...first one i was only five feet under water, and i came to after a few seconds, thank god...the second one, i was about 17-18 feet down...luckily, we always hunt in pars and my spear-fishing buddy pulled me up...after that time, i have slowed up my diving...i know avverage just 30 minutes to the hour underwater,... Best kill was a 19lb catfish from 3 yards away, at 28 foot deep...hell of an exsperiance, and having 50lb Strippers "dash" you when you get a small fish is quite an exsperiance!... Kye,.. Guest MOLLY
Millet is spot on, my old dad now 80yrs has weight trained all his life, was very sensible correct diet and training regime (and did wrestling for a long time) He has had to have 4 new hips and now needs knees. Although he still now does upper body 3 x per week. Some people are more suseptible to wear and tear on their joints. MOLL.
Kye 77
Bloody hell, FOUR new hips...he only has two legs!...must be greedy!..lol. Im glad he is ok know though.. ...great picture, and to have a body like that back then, is something imo,...science has brought nutrison and supplements a long way eh!... It is strange how it affects people though Moll, like you say!...my grandad used weights and heavy PT to get in shape for fighting and Boxing in the Navy, and he has not had a joint problem his whole life!...yet i know a guy who has been lifting about six years, and he is done over allready...bad back, he's knees are shot,...a real mess...you Da is real dedicated to still be doing what he can...fair play, i only hope i can do half of what he does, at half the age!.. Old pictures like that are just FULL of character!!!.. Kye..
Tommy 9
Glad to hear your progressing Kye !!! It is said often that heavy weight training can take its toll on your body and i suppose some weight trainers have had physical damage that has been caused through training but theres also loads that haven't suffered at all !! At the gym were i work has an old fella who comes in and he's 67 now and has trained since he was 15 !! This old lad is in great shape and still runs, bag work as well as weights regulary !! He's a real Wealth of knowledge as far as training is concerned (especially boxing) as he had over 100 amatuer fights !!! Theres also a few lads in the gym that have suffered through heavy weight training (sometimes through incorrect form) and the majority of injuries seem to be either ligament or shoulder/knee joints !!! All the best Tommy
socks 32,253
its all about strict correct form if you do this you are not applying incorrect preasure to the joints and you will be fine ....... glad the routine worked for you .... that will be £
Brummy 9
What's the routine lads, come on lets here it Are you taking any protein/creatine supplements as part of your diet Kye? Just interested. I do a lot of gym and I'm now lean as fook ! Any pointers as to putting on a bit of size is appreciated.
Kye 77
I 'aint no exspert, but from the little i have gathered, if you want to get BIG and strong, you have to lift basic, and HEAVY...lots of press and pull type moves, squats etc...sets of 5x5 or 4x6-8 seem to work great for me...DIET is everything!...1.5gr of protein per pound of body weight...im having around 300-320gr of protein a day, split into six meals with just three pure whey shakes...i dont like creatine...it fucks me up...little to no cardio..so, in level of importance (imo, on the very small knowledge i have got, mostly from Socks).. 1) Diet.. 2)Rest.. 3)Training.. I would say in that order as well...that what i have done and ive made GREAT gains..from 168lbs to 190 in seven weeks...not bad buy any standards!..lol. Kye..
