will.f11 24
I was just wondering how the huntsman learns to play the horn. Does he teach himself or does he get lessons off someone. Also, if any guys off here will be following North Cornwall Hunt tomorrow at the old inn, St Breward. then give me a PM and i will come and say hi. wouldnt mind meeting a few more people off here

wink hound 0
thats the best way mate, a visist to your the kennels to show your enthusiam to the local huntsman wouldnt be a bad idea, he will let you sweep the yards, skin the odd horse and one day he might teach you the secrets of horn blowing. dont be tempeted to buy crap off ebay type places, they will defeat you. a good Swaine type horn can be aquired for good money, will last you a life time and sing out a fine note when treated right. will.f11 24
yes mate. Our old huntsman has just left, and have a new guy which i dont know very well just yet. But I always got on with the old one. I will get down there at some point as i know a few working that way, and what do you mean by skin the od horse?
wink hound 0
assuming your hounds are still fed on fallen stock, a dieing thing perhaps? then horse will be on the menu, as will calf, beast maybe mutton, either way its all got to be skinned and gutten, best place to be on a cold winters day

Although there aint a huge amount of point this season as there are rumours to say our huntsman wont see next season, but who knows
