Jagds as retreivers

I do mostly earth work withs Patts, but I have some great duck land down here in south Louisiana. I am not real big on large dogs and have heard some things about jagdterriers working well as retreivers. I recently got 3 littermate 1/2 german and 1/2 croatian bred jagds with the hopes of finding one that would work. Sadly they are all looking to top off at about 15lbs and I think that is going to be to small for a water dog. They will see plenty work in the dirt. What is ya'lls opinion on them as water dogs.

not saying they wont, but buy a dog bred for the purpose of water retreives, no point trying to re-invent the wheel?

the jagds are bred to do allround work, retrieving being one of them.

how well they perform i don`t know, but if they`re already in your yard you will soon find out.
