is anyone on here using the new ortovox locator regularly.not just tried it once and dont like it as everything new takes a bit of getting used to..how does it compare to the bellman?

i was tempted to get the ortovox set up when i was looking to buy my locator, but read better reviews on the b+f and seeing as i had the money to afford the b+f i got that one

on;y thing iv found with the bellman set up is you cant pin point exactly, unlike you can wit hthe old deben ( even then iv only used it on ferrets), but the new deben i wank and good for nothing! I dont know how the ortovox works, but like i said, the bellman had the better reviews from blokes off here and its dead easy to use and worth the extra cash in my opinion

what you mean cant pin point exactly? iv been told if they say 0.8 on the box its usually 0.6 or something it dont bother me but for that money you want everything perfect

i mean that i have found that you get the same depth reading a foot either side of where the collar actually is...if you get what i mean. Not that it matters a great deal i wouldnt have thought i you dig a big enough hole

i use the bellman but if i needed a new one id buy the orthovox setup its just as good as a bellman if not better, and before you say it yes ive tryed both mixed and matched and i stand by the othovox as a good bit of kit equal to the b and f if not better.

 

so get your order over to bryan and stongstuff all ready for father christmas to deliver

thats comeing from someone whos used both, ortovox is alot cheaper aswell init if i hear of a few more comments like this i think itll be the ortovox infact

Just to say, that what that is is "SPIKES" you can get that with any box, and should check for it before digging, if there are 2 spikes go central, if there are 3 go over the central spike.

 

The Pieps DSP, Barryvox Pulse or Ortovox S1 are the very best boxes available for minimising "spikes". If you spend most of your time going DEEP these are the boxes to have.

If it's for yourself ................ a milk crate would be cheaper, am only going on what I was told but I heard you sit back and watch the other lads digging ..........

i m using orthovox for 3 years, i started with orthovox collar and mammut barryovox orto 3000 ( 2 antenas) and no problem. after one year mammut barryovox pulse was released so i decided to have one. i wrote her several times about the set and my experiences. from that moment a lot of lads come to see my set and ask me to buy one for them. i ve many opportunities to tets several boxes, pieps dsp, D3, patroller, D1, and S1. i found pulse as the best one.

S1 is realy great box but bit difficult to use, friend of mine send the box back to orthovox company and ask them to recalibrated for collar, now it s excelent.

 

i tried bf and what i can say it s good kit but the orthovox is better, smaller, faster, cheaper. y can match the collar with any box depands on y and y wallet. BF d sell y only whole set.

 

3 years ago a lot of lads was arguing here with me why to buy orthovox if there is BF. go and buy orthovox from Bryan and hel GregD family - this is the good reason to decided wich set. both will work properly for y
