what pellet

Not nesesarily. You wont go wrong with a domed pellet but other types can be just as good. I have used RWS super domes and RWS hobbys in my weihrauch .22 but it seems more accurate with the flat headed hobbys than the superdomes. The hobbys also do more damage. You can hear the difference when shooting rabbits in the head. In fact my gun is more accurate with the hobbys than with any domed pellets I have tried. Pointed pellets can be ok but they tend to be less accurate. especially if the points become slightly damaged. Also pointed pellets can go through a vital organ without imparting enough of the pellets energy leaving the quarry with enough energy to run down a hole even though you shot it through a vital organ. Hollow point pellets can be accurate enough and they do a lot of damage when hunting. Domed pellets are very good and kill cleanly enough but try flat heads and hollow point pellets too. Its all a case of what works best in your gun. But I would avoid pointed pellets and definately steel pellets in plastic jackets.

i would agree that domed pellets are best for hunting, flat heads will cause the most damage at close range as more of their energy will be dissipated into the target, but at medium to long range will (due to the pellets poor aerodynamic profile) lose more of their energy than a domed head pellet would

i wouldnt bother with pointed pellets as even the slightest damage to the pellet or difference in point centre from pellet centre will cause an unstable pellet in flight, try shooting a few on the range and see how the odd 'flyer' of a pellet will spoil your grouping

bisley superdomes. you can hear the difference. i have hobbys wasps and bislys. the wasps are shite and hardly penertrate. hobbys are nice but the superdomes make the most damage! and give a nice swack on impact.
