Ive seen blacks before but heard from a farmer that his daughters breeding rabbits escaped ten or so years previously and that was the result. but i also heard of people putting out myxi ridden domestics to wipe out warrens. myxi is such a filthy wrotten thing.

My permission has no keepers to put out black rabbits. There are plenty on there though, I see babies in the summer and adults. None of the blackies have ever had mixy. I think it must be 3 years since I last saw a mixy infected brown one.

ive seen a few round this way , i was told once that the blacks were infected with mixy then put with the rabbits in an area that needed to be controlled, but saying that ive seen lots of black rabbits living quite healty with other healthy rabbits

Alright mate they used to put a black rabbit down in the old days and if it went missing then they knew something was a miss either poachers or predatory problem. ;)
