k9delboy 138
I was told that if you don't have permission for rabbits, then you will get done for being in pursuit of game. they are only vermin if you have permission.

Bosun11 537
Thats the bother with ferreting, your a bit tied to the one spot once you put your ferrets in youve made that committment to stick with them til they resurface or are dug to. Ive been caught loads of times over the years, every farmer/keeper is different and they dont all react the same. Ive had blokes shouting and bawling at me, every swear word under the sun, threats of this and that, through to guys who will come over and take an interest in what your doing and watch the proceedings, one time a keeper came over and asked me to leave, I was on my own with 2 ferrets and a few nets, it was back years ago when I used to get mates to drop me off at bits as I didnt drive. I just told him straight I had been dropped off and the guy wasnt coming back for me for 2 hours. And that I wasnt prepared to leave my ferrets to ground. If your determined in your attitude people will often respect you for it allthough a lot of the time its begrudingly. Well this keeper didnt really know what to say after that, so I offered him a sweet as an icebreaker and he accepted and then sat down to watch the rabbits bolt and then me clearing up the nets etc. When I had them back in the box and made to move off to the next bit he just said ok on you go I can see your no doing any harm just stay away from that wee wood where the pheasants are and once your mate picks you up I dont want to see you again Of course I stuck to my side of the bargain rigidly once I give my word thats it, I went back many times but as agreed, he never SAW me again hehe Had a 'similar' thing happen to me after getting dropped off to ferret aged about 13. When caught with ferrets in, the keeper asked me to hand him a rabbit that was lying on the ground and thinking he was going to take it and bollock me, I did. Fool that I was, he battered me with it and boy did that hurt! To add insult to injury as i'm laying on the ground, my best Jill came wandering out, job done, to suddenly go 'boom' and explode, as the young underkeeper gave it both barrels Oh, just for the record, I payed 'em both back over the years... and then some!! thepriest 0
Hi there i was just woundering what happens if you get cot on some ones else land(POACHING) lamping rabbits /ferreting do any of use do this Thanks ALAN TANNOCK First time i got caught was when i was about 13 years old. I was having a bit of a mooch one evening with my trusty airsporter. The keeper collared me just off a footpath i was laying up in a ditch squealing up some rabbits and he crept up behind me and put his foot on my back and said "i been watching you for a while boy what the ferk you think your doing" My reply was obvious " whats it ferkin look like controling your pests for you" Next thing i know hes pulled me up and starts growling at me " you cheeky little c@@t who do you think you are, Whats your name, Where do you live" Right im thinking now how do i get out of this one. Anyway i knew a bit about his wife she was twenty years younger than him and lets just say she liked an oil change now and then. And one of my mates older brothers had been one of the machanics lol. I said to him i had phoned him but his wife had answered the phone and said it was ok for me to shoot a few rabbits. " is that right he said, we will see about that, come with me" He throws me in his hilux and drives me back to his cottage takes me inside where his little wife is in the kitchen at the sink doing the washing up." Hey darling did this young man ring up and ask if he could shoot on the land" Before she can answer im in there with "Its me Robert M@@@@@ns little brother Nuff said

Shot your ferret what a nob i'v been caught a fair few times mainly whilst out hair coarsing the one time i remember the most is we were at a village called spennithorne noy so long ago there were 3 of us 3 dogs we had set onto the land about 630am and as we were half way round we could see the little farm track littered in 4x4 jeeps quads tractors you name it they were there .Well i hadn't exactly hidden my motor as we had done this land loads of times without any trouble so we decided to carry on as they were all round the motor we had taken 4 or 5 hares then decided to go face the music well as we were a couple of fields away 3 quads came motoring down i definetly thought But when they came closer we could see them video recording us keeping there distance tried shouting them to come closer but they were just shouting back wait till you get up here you gonna get kicked to f**k. Well all joking aside we were bricking it all laughing about it but really all of us wanted to do one but we all thought we were if you no what i mean getting into the last field a hare jumps up and my mates dog slipped its collar killed the hare while them tw*ts caught it all on camera Well and truly caught in the act we got near the car could see it blocked in about 15 mushs all stood round laughin as we strolled up in slow motion thinking what to say we were shitting ourselves by this point thinking the worse a good old kicking coming ourway. got up to the car they were all shouting about like idiots screaming what scum we were for been on there land and saying we only up there to do there houses and sheds over one went for my mate my mate moved the lad went flying on his asse then all of a sudden the place was swarming in police and to be honest i was pretty glad they went over the motor searched it inside out checked us all out started telling us we were naughty boys we were the lad with the camera tried to show him what he filmed and the pudding forgot to press record so we got off with a nice little warning and sent on our way seen two of them keepers since so told them swivel could have been ten times worse
polecat 1
The landowner can take your name and address and go to the police and they can fine you and take your dogs and equipment, so dont do it if i were you !! in scotland they can take your gear but cannot take any live stock of you and thats law been done a few time over the years
