Did you mean to say British guns.

What about Dickson Round Actions, and McNaughton., both firms now merged, and both Scottish.

There are/were a few Irish makers, North and South, usually good for larger bored guns.

Sorry no pics.

i can dream o a nice old english...but reality is more like a cheap spanish :D ....mind you...the sort of rough shooting I go on, iwouldnt want anything expensive!!

do many people still use side by sides. everyone now seems to use o/u is it harder to shoot side by side?

From personal experience i find o/u easier to shoot but i still prefer sbs all day long a real nice old sbs a bit of British heritage and even better a nice sbs sidelock as i dont think boxlocks look right but many people would disagree But while were on it here's one of my shot guns it's a Charles Lancaster W&R Hammerless ejector 12bore ..... :D

I just like the shape and the heritage, i also shoot better with my s/s than an o/u but the u/o is supposedly easier to shoot well owing to it's narrow sight plane- ie down one barrel as supposed to in between two barrels.

yeah well, room for improvement i'll admit, :icon_redface: but i hadn't had the gun very long and i had only just got into shooting, but i think i'm a lot better now, i score around 35 ex 50 with my s/s best score 39 ex 50. :D

She's pretty! yup, sidelocks do look nicer but they're sooooo much more than a boxlock, i like the look of the webley 700s..... nice quite plain engraving, not trying to be what it isn't but i'm sure that not many of us can justify spending 40,000 on a new westley richards or other london gun?
