Catcher 1 639
hello all, all this recent debate over bull x,s has started the cogs turning and got me wondering about all different lurchers...what i have been wondering is about the versatility of a doberman x grehound.. the shape, size and musclature of the doberman would appear to lend itself perfectly to this mating and so im wondering if anyone has either tried it, or is trying it and the results of such a cross...and before anyone starts slating me for this post, dont bother......cause i dont give a damn... Hi justin.I think you could get good worker,s off this cross.I see a lot,s of people are giving you jip.If you think it,s right mate go for it.Any dog that is bred with a greyhound is classed as a lurcher.atb.Catcher 1 Quote Link to post

desertdog 149
dont be daft, there is lurchers and longdogs are hybribs, i aint a newcomer to the job, i feel insulted, dont know anyone who keeps this type, but do remember seeing one back in the ,s, itwas very aggresive to other dogs, but matey boy kept on its own,and just used it for the horny peckers, it looked just like a fit dobey with a tail. little nell 0
She might not have a high bunny kill rate, but she manages to feed herself at least one day a week! It does however mean that location of cats, chickens and other such interesting stuff has to be checked out whenever we go to let her "offlead"! Quote Link to post
BenBhoy 4,706
i mentioned this months ago in a different post on here! i often think of what would make decent lurcher X's and i fancy doberman X too Quote Link to post
deerhound-greyhound 6
i reckon a dobe cross greyhound could prove to be a good breed because as someone said further up the page it has the size and everything but has it got the head to work if it does then it could prove to be a good crossbecause with the size and weight it should be able to shake things with great power, Quote Link to post
Terrier man 38
Had one first cross fawn in colour big dog about 28inchs tts . Stone useless he had gears in straight line but one turn and thats him taking days to get back in there, as for gamness he was okay wouldnt be near as game as a bullx, wheaten x or deerhound . Had decent stamina but nothing the above cross wouldnt add. In the end i gave him away to a mate to use as a watch dog as he was handy at that. I would not dream of crossing one as theres nothing they could add to a greyhound that you would want in the feild. Quote Link to post
josh-waddingham 13
Admittedly Dobe's aren't hunting dogs but neither are collies or pit bull terriers yet both make excellent lurchers. personally i thought the sound of a doberman x greyhound is a good pair and would fit together like a jigsaw, but where yoy say that collies arent hunting dogs and neither are pitbulls well i have worked with farm collies for several years now and they do have an animal instinct a good nose and very good ears pitbull terriers however are also used for hunting in mexico etc. as known as pig dogs tackeling wildboars Quote Link to post
