There is no British single-handed competition (Forley cup) this year. I have run the forley since 1997 as chairman of the Association of Lurcher clubs. At the moment all my time is taken up with fighting for the repeal of the hunting ban. Three weeks ago I was in the Houses of Parliment with representatives of other hunting organisations fighting for lurcher work (all kinds of Lurcher work) The fight goes on. The ban is a bad law and will be repealed. If anybody says he has a dog in this years Forley, somebody is kidding him!!! Once again there is no Forley cup this season.

I have the complete list of winners since don southerd won the first one if anybody is interested.

Is the dog called "Cruise" from Shildon, I live there and have heard that dogs name mentioned loads, I think a local fella owned it, not sure though, atvb Richard

was at the lurcher assosaition when it was formed and diffrent club things with tweed mouth coursing club years ago , therel be simliar comps and the qauliity of dogs no diffrent

one big difference , because of ban im sure the dogs would surley be running a little plastic bag rather than a hare

Coursing Hares is still Legal, under the ban rules ie : flushed to guns & use of a B O P

i think they ran one last year but the dogs were musled up its not the same i know in coursing its not the catching what adds the points up but its still not the same
