provarmint 25
went out tonight for a shine on a local patch that i have seen a big dog fox a few times but has always proved elusive so tonight we parked up and set of to the area where we'd seen him before. lit up a large marsh and on the far side on the bank there was charlie about 300 yds away, tried a mouse squeak with my hand but he didnt like it and walked over the bank on to a stubble behind out of sight. rather than chase him we continued along the track to try and cut him off, after about a 20 minute walk we were edging over a ridge lamping as we went and there was charlie again right at the bottom of the stubble but as soon as the light hit him he was off back toward where we first seen him i thought that was it for tonight we would never see him again but i'd downloaded a call onto my mobile from western rivers.com so left the light off and tried it. a couple of minutes into the call we flicked the light on and i couldnt believe it there he was charging in but again as soon as he was lit up he turned to make away, i had the rifle on the sticks and tracked him in the scope, gave him an "oi" and he turned to look, took him with a headshot at around 130 paces. happy days. he was a big boy in good condition. What's the modertor on your rifle,is it an S5 ? Quote Link to post
