Graham Nicholson 0
so i believe GN. LL has just given a full explanation of the clipping and the reasons are valid. interesting but redundant if the dog isn't working. just wondered how many in the show ring actually see water that isn't scented with jasmine and has loads of bubbles! I do know a couple of people who own poodles and reckon they are cracking dogs, can't fault them. oh well, each to his own. p.s. whoooo fluffy bits ;-) sorry unclipped portions of the canines coat. I have two Poodles, the cream male on page two of this post, and a black bitch, the cream dog Hannible, which I intend to use in my Lurcher breeding project come July 09, he is totally tractable in every sense of the word, and as I’ve mentioned above, he has been a joy to train, however the bitch which I have failed to enter, or do anything constructive with is totally intractable, and in my opinion totally unsuitable to use in such a project, as for your question how many from the show fraternity see water I have no idea, however I doubt very many do. whin 463
saw apoodle once in chatsworth and localy both capable of something one could fight a bit and had thick skin , but as a lurcher well the males would be big and if to furry nop good as they would over heat on big chases , mayb a quarter poodle , stict to my old fashioned colli crosses mate but i lik a poodle and if it kills foxes all the better but can seee them been fast and agile unless a good blend of sight hound is added Quote Link to post
jimb 30
Just my opinion but seems like a money maker like most of the fad poodle crosses.I just can't see what positives or working capabitities added poodle blood will bring to a lurcher Quote Link to post
summat decent 0
Has anyone ever seen or owned a Standard Poodle lurcher? http://www.poodlehistory.org/ I dont know of any SPL or heard of any. Must of trained quite a few different breeds and the standard poodle is a real smart dog.Trained two together a few years ago, they were easy worked with and quick to learn.Great breed good luck with that!
