Making a ferret box

went to B&Q yesturday and got a 6ft by 4ft sheet of quatre inch ply.

Gonna make a start on a box tonight, just wondering how you make the box back shape..

Im not really botherd if its bow back or not, but if it's easy enough to do i might aswell give it a go

If you want the bow back to it, simply use the 1/4 ply on all bits, BUT THE BACK, and use a bit of 1/8th ply there, it bends easier, glue and pin

if its a double box .. i made the 2 sides.. for example 20cm... the the divided in the middle 15 cm then before fitting the back wet the wood and find somewhere so the wood is resting on each side but underneath the middle is a gap so the wood can bow. Find something with alot of weight ( not to much itll snap ) and rest it perfectly in the middle. Leave it there for a while and the bow will form go back to the box you made and screw the middle dived last and slowly not to break the wood ... should give you a fine bow back box

Youv'e already got the ply mate ,but is it worth the bother you can buy a ready made box for £20

Ply cost me a tenner, but there should be plenty of spart stuff.

Gonna make it 18inch long by 1ft wide and 9inch high.

Removeable divider

Seperatly opening lids for each section

you wanna make it as light as possible, i once made a box.. looked the biz but after a few hours regretted the weight, personally i'd scale it down a bit
