need help on making a decision

well i currently have my top terrier (polly) who i would never let leave my side and a pup identical to her who is 7 months and is showing great potential (already had to rugby tackle her to stop her going after a big dog fox the other week and trys desperatly to follow my other dog down fox sets)

 

anyway what i was asking you all about was is it really worth having two terriers if i want a small lurcher for rabbiting and maybe certian other quarry because if it wasnt a single handed fox dog (talking about preban here obviously)then it could just work along side polly

 

any opinions would be greatly apreciated

well i gave up my terriers

to get the running dogs jpt .

luckily my fther had one but they also

were a different breed and did nt take to the new dogs

also if you have one that dosnt fit in with what you are wanting.

a hard decision but if running a few rabbits is more for you .

i wouldnt think twice good sport and times to be had .

but it is wether you could or want to part really decisions decisions atb

i know its an awful decision because she is a 5 star little terrier and is going to make a great little worker but i mean its wether i really need two terriers, the home would have to a 5 star home aswel (she wouldnt be going to no nob head chav)

got to be carfull if you want the best they deserve it

well if i try and sell the terrier as a part swap for a lrucher and if its a good honest home then they would want to see how the dog was getting on and viser versa

i dont want to repeat what the so called freinds son said to us .

hence it we were absoulutly fuming .and he was home within 2 hour.

remember how i was with you .well you dont expect a so called freind

to do the opposite live and learn .

if you want a quality home hold out for one

well yes and quite understandable .

at the end of their are alot that like to see them get the best .

my family being one .and on the other hand the ones who give the game

a bad name .

you get out wht is putten in .and me personnaly

dont like getting rid of dogs hence so many .and when i did it was a real

bad time .espeicailly when all you want is a bit of responce

the dogs doing well .if not fetch it back sort thing .

but people of all walks of life .do hve different veiws .

so as i say serious thinking for yourself .

i no the people who just pass dog after dog between home after home because it has faults, people have faults but we put up with them, my terrier (polly who i wouldnt be with out) works like there is no tomorow and this is her first year of hunting, she was started at 3 by me and she is now 4, and she is hiting hard on rabbits and certian other unmentionable quarry, people just dont give dogs a chance or put the time in to get them to be great little hunters

 

i may get my lurcher, bring teal (the pup in question) on a bit more then reconsider things

 

oh yes im still doing the shuffle, slightly less than before but still shuffleing

my decision for letting my bulls go was

genuinly they wouldnt take to any other dog .

but then again my father stepped in .

if he hadnt i wouldnt have a lurcher or 2 today

but its turned out ok now ,and i do love them .

and the sport .also the lurcher for m is more a night time

pleasure .so you can always mix the 2 like .

if you have the time that is ,you being a student and all .

i have 24/7 for mine being ill .so times no problem .

and you sound very genuine to me .and thinking before jumping in.

not that you can at the moment .but hopfully you will be soon .

yeah well i will see what comes up but iam going to get my kennels built this week, well im not going to build them, or carry the materials, or even carry the tea hehe because i cant move really but i will supervise i supose, im good at the bossing people around part, not the doing part
