Penda 3,341 Posted December 2, 2008 Report Share Posted December 2, 2008 (edited) Hunting (poaching) has been in my family for years my grandad was a city boy from carlow when he met my nan who was a country girl her brother mick who was a top class poacher in fact he was deadly showed me grandad how it was done obviously then he passed it onto my dad who loves ferreting,lurchers,terriers,shooting everything he dont go out much now but i think i make up for the both of us i started when i was an ankle bitter ferreting mainly and lamping and im still as keen now as i was then i love it Edited December 2, 2008 by Penda Quote Link to post

I remember the first time I went ferreting was when I was 7. Can't remember much apart from meeting up with this stranger who had ferrets, funny how the memory works? It must have been enough to get me hooked cos I can remember nagging my dad and getting my first ferret when I was 9. Me and my mate thought we were the dogs bollocks, walking the hedgerows with a pocket full of nets and a ferret in a money bag. Ahhh bliss. them was the good old days Quote Link to post
