LDR 29
So whats happened Charts?Re-run or was it settled on the limited runs? I've spoken to LDR, 'cause as you can imagine, I'm not happy about the outcome, but he says as long as we had equal slips, albeit only three each, the one that caught the most wins ! It was a very hard call to make, wether to run or not,; any othe time I wouldn't have went out in these conditions, but the lad travelled 6+ hours on a train for it, so I couldn't let him down !! The same land has, usualy, pleanty of game, but the near arctic conditions meant nothing was about ! I'm gutted it ended this way, but what could I do ? Cheers. Well done mate gutted for the other lad he came 6 hours and never caught a thing but thats british weather for you good luck next round The lad put his money down to enter, travelled 6+ hours on a train, and came out in bad conditions and ran his dog !! I have nothing but admiration and respect for him ! It would gladden my heart if more young'uns, (he's 17 and I'm 56), were involved in the sport, and would put up with old guys like me !!! Cheers. hope you never took him drinking cp ha  Drinking laws in this country are weird !! But I'm sure in a private residence a child of 14 may leagaly drink, not that LBC did !! He only had coke Cheers. Charters me old fruit...... Correct me if i'm wrong but coke is illegal at any age!!!!! Keep the lines to yourself you pusher.................... Quote Link to post

chartpolski 24,047
These forums sometimes bring out the worst in people, but this Lamping Competition has brought together people from all over the country, from Scotland to Cornwall, young and old, male and female, rabbitting dogs and fen dogs !! We're meeting old mates and making new friends !! There was a few who thought it wouldn't come off, or degenerate into argument, but they have been proved wrong !! People travelling hundreds of miles, people opening their homes to strangers, people giving up their time and permission....... all to make this comp a success !! Whoever wins it will be very proud, but whoever has taken part can be just as proud !! Cheers. Quote Link to post

minion 29
Well done. The thing is you cant control the conditions and the heat was run fairly. 2 rabbits or 20 rabbits you can only catch whats run. Quote Link to post
tote 856
well done, good job nightinmellie is not here asking you to give it to the visitor as he did in the 1st heat as the rabbits wernt on the ground in plaque porpotions like i say well done and you cant help the weather Can you explain what you mean??? I don't know what 1st heat you are on about. . . . He's talking about the 1st heat mate, Markbrick V Spep? Can you not remember the stink it caused when the score ended up 9-7, a certain person thought that Mark should have said sorry to spep and let him go through as "you can't go through with a score of 9-7". Funny then that when a couple of the heats had similair scores and this latest one less[2-0] nobody is saying a thing. The silence is deafening, let's just call it the Markbrick factor. I'm in no way having a go at the comp, with the exception of the grumble by Nighttimenellie the heats have been ran in a very sporting manner and let's hope it continues.I wish everyone that's left in the comp the best of luck. Below is the post by nighttimenellie that I think Rabbiteer is refering to. "am i missing something here, did i read that in 3 hours of lamping the score was 9-7!!!!!, feckin 9-7 in three hours, that is not a lamping competition, it should either be re-run on some decent ground , or the lad with the bullx should get his money back, that is nothing short of a disgrace, (not having a go at anyone but it proves there are to many variables to hold such competitions) i think the "away"dog has ran better than the "home" dog , if its only lost by two on completly strange ground, its ran better, as it hasnt had the advantage of the dog or owners local knowledge,(surely the comp, is about finding the best dog, you cannot judge with a score like that, and if you do numbers should not count as they are to low, it should be how the dogs ran, and if i read correctly the bullx was catching hedge sitters at 200 yards lol, fecking incredible )as for 9-7 i would be embarrased to show that many rabbits to a lad that has traveled to run with me, if there was no game you should have went somewhere there was game(there always seems to be hundreds about where Mark runs) you cant go through with a score of 9-7, its just embarrasing, anyway good luck, but its just not right in my mind and i would have said sorry to the lad and let him go through at my expense if i had been the home runner(at the very least offered a re-run on better ground) but thats just me honest Jim lol." nighttimenellie Quote Link to post

Guest joe ox
In theory a dog could win this comp and run less than 10 or 15 rabbits :11: Quote Link to post
