JordKil 0
Went out today for a wee wonder to get the jills started on some warrens near to my house they aren't very big but house some large bunnies So I took my one strong poley hob and my two albino jills in the box with a couple of nets. First warren that I tried not a sausage after half an hour trying to catch the bloody hob who went wonders for a bit I headed up the road to see if there were any clear ones that I would be able to net. I just put the hob in to get them shifting then I saw a bloke walking his dog coming up the road so I panicked trying to get my hob out so it didnt eat the blokes lhasa apso but the wee bugger kept dipping and diving into every bleeding hole in sight. The guy walked past just as I pulled my head out of the overgrowth and smiled and asked "och you lost yer dog" I looked back grinned and said "no no my ferret" lol the bloke gave me the funniest look ever then Rascal (the hob) pooped his head mout of a hole and the guys jaw dropped and his dog ran a mile lol. But anyway, the hob started heading up towards the dyke in search of another hole then he dived in one for a good 5 mins then all of a sudden I heard the noise of a rabbit rumbling underground so in a panic I grabbed a net but it was too late the rabbits head pooped out for a split second then SCREECH! the hob grabbed its arse and pulled it back in. Shite! I started hauling rocks off of the dyke so I could get a clear view and there I saw it a wee bunny all frozen up while the hob was chewing its arse off! At first I couldnt reach it so I put a jill down to see if she could shift him a bit but she didnt bother so back in the box. I moved another few rocks to see that the hob had moved to chewing the rabbits ears instead and that the back legs wer clear to grab so I thrusted my hand into the wall and Abra Kadabra! One big bunny with ferret attached! I finally convinced my hob to let go and chinned the bunny (successfully in one go ) then proceeded home with my catch Only got one pic with just the rabbit as the hob wouldnt hold still! will.f11 24
well done mate, might be an idea to net all the holes before starting. as you can never be sure where it will come out. But we live and learn and its good to get a catch your first time Quote Link to post
