spike25blue 55 Posted December 1, 2008 Report Share Posted December 1, 2008 yes [bANNED TEXT] it is walnut and a good finish for it is danish oil put a thin coat on allow to dry and buff then repeat until the wood is well coated a coat every day for about 3/4 days should do it will look really nice Quote Link to post

Nobody would buy Walnut if beech all looked like that!! True! Sadly, such examples of beech, mostly appear only in product ads! I remember a friend who mail ordered a rifle that looked beautiful in beech on the website, that he felt it justified him not getting walnut! But when it arrived it looked ordinary! Just like beech! he he. The stripped stock looks good! Put up finished pics soon! I'm not a great fan of glossy stocks. Matte looks fit for walnut.
