Corky(amateur) 0
hi all just want to know if anyone has used the new collars and what the compare like to the original mk3 collars? Quote Link to post
stealthy1 3,964
The collars are just the same, just that you rub the locator over the collar to switch them of and on, or use the magnetic hammer shaped key. Quote Link to post
stubby 175
although the idea of being able to turn them on and off sounds ok, as it will save the battery life, what happens when someone boxes a ferret and switches off the collar, then later re enters a ferret and forgets to turn it back on, it will happen, think I'll stick with the mk3 ones Quote Link to post

will.f11 24
if you are in a routine of turning the batteries round in the collars to turn them off, you might forget to turn it back on as you normally would leave collars on all day until you get home Quote Link to post
john hubery 9
Love them or hate them we are having a right job trying to get stock from deben may be they are turning out to be more popular than the expected or its just the christmas market I dont know but we have been waiting three weeks for new stock, saying that I will be sticking with the old mark 3 collars, being a bit of an old stick in the mud I have only just started to use the mark 3 two weeks ago Quote Link to post

Brimmer 220
Still using the mk1 (but shortly this will have to change, it's getting a bit patchy on the dial). We always leave the collar's screwed and taped up, the battery lasts well on these, maybee only needing changing once a season. How long do they last if unscrewed all the time after a session? I have only just started with locators and have an MK1, and turn the batteries round after each session, so as im only goin out on average 1-2 times a week, they should last a long time Quote Link to post

I think the batteries will last just as long in the collars, be they MK3 or MK3M. Quote Link to post
