I start off with 2" of shavings in the bed area, and about an inch in the cage, Shortly after i end up with around 7" in the bed area and none in the cage! Never happy are they!

I've used sealed bagged straw and hay from pet suppliers, and found the critters with ticks on them shortly afterwards. (not even been out!)

A good bed of shavings will do i'm sure!

Thanks for all the info just been and put a old jumper of mine in that should keep her warm and i am hopefully going to get another ferret in the next few weeks so they will be able to keep each other warm then.

i would shove some shredded paper in as well if there scraping all the shavings into the bed area

Might well do that Kay, cannot harm them. (they were doing it all summer as well though!) Like there comfort's i think!

That dog beddings good white strips of soft paper , if they get to warm they just shove it out & then drag it back if its gets a tad nippy :laugh:

 

unlike here where i insist on a 13 tog quilt all year long regardless of the conditions, i cant bare to be cold :laugh:
