Guest air gunner
[bANNED TEXT] then im going to bite the bullet and go ahead and buy a silencer. The big question is though which one? i figure there is no point in one that hardly muffles the noise but then one that does is likly to make the gun not suitable for hunting because of slightly decreased velocity. My rifle is a bsa supersport which i use for shooting pigeons rabbits etc. which silencer should i get. really i dont want to be spending that much so what do i buy? Quote Link to post
Big bald beautiful 1,231
the sound you hear is from the spring, a silencer on a bsa spring gun will hardly make a bit of difference. is it threaded for a screw in one ? if not you will have to take the front sight off, then a webley prosystem will fit it, there about £25 . Guest air gunner
no its not threaded but i can take the front sight of easily. but as you said a silencer wont make any difference! has anyone got a silencer on a bsa springer? a silencer not working sounds reasonable but in practice it might be different? Chap...lots of people have Moderators an thier BSA/Gamo spring guns...BSA/Gamo actually supply them with several!!! The noise is not just the spring, they do help, and overall power reduction from most on a 12ft lb gun will be very small! Quote Link to post
Guest air gunner
Thats great i was sure it couldent just be the spring but i thought id ask the experts anyway. the guns said to be 11.5fps and to be honest i doubt from what i have heard it will slow it down to 11 or even 11.3fps. so the last thing now is which one. the pro system or the volumetric??? Guest air gunner
Hi bearinator sounds good. just two questions did the volumetric silencer muffle the noise on the supersport when you used it? and did it slow the pellet much? Guest air gunner
what is being asked for this silencer? Before i make any decisions i need more info and reviews on them. Quote Link to post
BEARINATOR 2,872
It muffled the sound alot at 15 yards you could only here the pellet hitting the target, it didn't seem to slow the pellet down too much as my furthest kill with it on was a 48 yard head shot on a rabbit. I'd give it to you for nothing as my supersport made way for my hw100 Quote Link to post
