Guest jrt
would supermarket beef mince be good for a pup of 12 weeks old? at the mo hes getten morning - weetabix & goats milk afternoon - scrambled egg/grated carrot teaspoon of olive oil mid day - waggs puppy dry food/ naturel yogout watered down night - beef mince is this ok? Excellent diet mate, a lot better than what most dogs get. Beef mince is fine yeah. Chicken and rabbit is easier to digest though. I would leave the egg raw though, its a lot better. If you're worried about bacteria don't be, dogs are fine with it. It has more nutrients raw. I would probably leave out the goats milk or youghurt however, you don't want too much dairy. I'd say leave out the yoghurt and keep the goats milk. Look at the ingredients of the Wagg. If it says "contains EU permitted preservatives, cours and antoxidants", or BHA and BHT, or any E numbers, leave it out. Its not a great food actually, I've looked at it before. If it was me, I'd switch to Red Mills PET, WINNER or STAR for a cheap but reasonably good quality food. Don't go for Royal Canin or Hills, its waaaay too overpriced and its basically no better than pedigree chum. Give an adult food rather than a puppy food as he will get enough high quality protein from the meat, eggs, etc. When he's a bit older you can start giving him big raw bones. I give the odd apple/turnip chunk to to pups to gnaw on. They are very good for them, are filling without being a protein food and keep them occupied for a while. Good luck mate! You sound like a great owner! Hiya mate, im going to cut the yogout out and stick with the goats milk, he aint to keen on the yogout anyway, he loves the goats milk though. not sure wether olive oil is good everyday, so ive change that two a teaspoon every two days now mixed in with his beef mince, i will check the waggs food for those ingredients, but TBH ive been thinkin of changing it to raw chicken instead, aswell as the beef and maybe half a handful of the waggs not to much.. only had him a week today so he hasnt change much hehe, but heres a pick of him he is 13 weeks old
