ive always been told that you should freeze the mince first then thaw out to kill some kind of bacteria?someone on here will be able to tell you more, id get some pilchards and garlic in that diet too and wouldnt waterdown the yoghurt:thumbs:

morning-

afternoon-

mid day-

night-

and add what they gave there pups

would be a good topic for people and allot of help for me.

thanks

for my 12 week old pups i would be feeding

7am-royal canin puppy softened with some warm goats milk

11am RCP with some green tripe (raw)

3pm scrambled eggs

7pm RCP and tripe

Sometimes I prefer to feed skinnersinstead of RC, but it would depend on what breed.

Tripe isn't necessary for pups and doesn't contain much protein anyway, although most dogs love it. Stick with what your'e doing, sounds good enough IMO. But as already said, don't water down the yoghurt, and no, you don't need to freeze human grade beef mince.

No I was abbreviating from my 7am menu...royal canin puppy RCP :)

Skycat- as for tripe...well no its not "neccessary" as I am feeding a comlete diet suitable for my breed however i find they "enjoy" ;) having it in their food. I get mine from this website and they deliver regularly for free.

The reason for freezing beef is that it can carry the parasite neospora - there was a case of a boxer having to be put down because of this. The parasite is rare but is supposed to be killed by freezing. It's up to you to decide if you want to risk it, even though the risk is very small - I freeze beef first, I wouldn't forgive myself if one of my dogs was affected by this because I didn't take the precaution.

I would leave out the weetabix grated carrot?? waggs and natural yogurt

go for meat mince chicken lamb and pork ( although that will get everyone shouting about not feeding dogs pork i feed mine and have looked for strong clinical evidence and there isnt any) fed in any combo you wish and last thing at night leave down some decent ( 1st ingredient Meat not meal or dereviates) complete ring the changes with some canned fish and if you want to feed milk i would you goats milk

Whippet pups fed this way litter of 9 - 6 weeks old

Excellent diet mate, a lot better than what most dogs get.

Beef mince is fine yeah. Chicken and rabbit is easier to digest though.

I would leave the egg raw though, its a lot better. If you're worried about bacteria don't be, dogs are fine with it. It has more nutrients raw.

I would probably leave out the goats milk or youghurt however, you don't want too much dairy. I'd say leave out the yoghurt and keep the goats milk.

Look at the ingredients of the Wagg. If it says "contains EU permitted preservatives, cours and antoxidants", or BHA and BHT, or any E numbers, leave it out. Its not a great food actually, I've looked at it before. If it was me, I'd switch to Red Mills PET, WINNER or STAR for a cheap but reasonably good quality food. Don't go for Royal Canin or Hills, its waaaay too overpriced and its basically no better than pedigree chum. Give an adult food rather than a puppy food as he will get enough high quality protein from the meat, eggs, etc.

When he's a bit older you can start giving him big raw bones.

I give the odd apple/turnip chunk to to pups to gnaw on. They are very good for them, are filling without being a protein food and keep them occupied for a while.

Good luck mate! You sound like a great owner!

although eggs are very good for dogs (I beieve, they are one of the most concentrated, valuable form of protein that a dog can get) , they do need to be cooked Raw egg whites bind to the biotin that a dog ingests and prevents it from being absorbed, hence why most fold feed scrambled aggs and not raw ;)
