Coney 3
Found these on my camera after going through my most recent hunting exploits ( not a pretty sight ). I have noticed there had been a few posts on the subject over the last couple of months, well he's a brace of mixied up bunnies that got some lead poisioning on my last trip..... Unfortunately not fit for anything apart from a spot of "carrion baiting".....what do you think??? Regards Coney. Quote Link to post

Deker 3,478
would they be ok for ferrets any ideas anyone.not a nice site but good shooting mate all the best jazz They would be alright for YOUR Sunday lunch. They are meant to be more tender and tasty! Mixxy was introduced nearly 60 years ago and in that time not a single case of mixxy, or mixxy related illnesses, has been noted in ANY other animal or human being!! But I have no desire to test the theory...although with all the rabbits I have eaten over the years I suspect I already have!! Quote Link to post

Tyla 3,179
Lost most of the rabbits round here to it this year. Been a bad year for it. it means im scratching around trying to find enough rabbits to bring the dogs on when last year the same places were heaving with them. Whoever thought it up has alot to answer for, it looks a terrible way to die. Quote Link to post
kobidog 1
would they be ok for ferrets any ideas anyone.not a nice site but good shooting mate all the best jazz They shoul be fine for ferrets. They are apparently good for human consumption aswell  Quote Link to post
celticwar 1
all this year ive seen 2 thats it and one of them was at work so i put it out of its misery .. ive been told in past a rabbit that looks ok but when inspecting the liver it has spots its mixy ... i dont normally use them for any thing i just put them on the bon fire to burn get rid of the diseased remains Quote Link to post
masmiffy 82
Had a couple last week with early signs of mixy, seems late this year or is it me? As for eating them! A vet at a well known research establishment local to me once skinned cooked and ate a mixy rabbit in front of his collegues to prove the point that eating a mixy rabbit cant harm you Quote Link to post
Guest air gunner
burning them sounds the best way because it is a flea isnt it? at least you will help removing it from your shoot. Quote Link to post

Phantom 631
burning them sounds the best way because it is a flea isnt it? at least you will help removing it from your shoot. No Myxie is a virus not a flea but it can be carried by fleas and mossies All the "Experts" say you CAN eat a Myxie Rabbit as it can not be spread to humans, but then they said that "Mad Cow" varients couldn't infect humans. Would anyone actually try it? I wouldn't  Phantom Myxie Info Here Edited December 2, 2008 by Phantom Quote Link to post
