it sounds similar to what my whippet had .i thought it was a stroke .they done all the tests and with a bill for £300 :o they said they thought it was vestibular syndrome ? they said i could have a mri scan but it would cost £1000 !!

the first vet didnt know what it was so i took it to another vet and he said it was vs .he said his own lurcher had had it and made a perfect recovery ? he gave her steroids etc and it made a hell of a difference but even now she still isn't perfect as she still stumbles at times when running flat out .it seems similar to vertigo in humans which causes trouble with balance etc

someone i knew had a puppy with similar symptoms to yours, the vet told them that it was fluid on the brain caused by a heavy blow to the head... which was caused by the owners evil child pushing it off the back of the settee. Is there any chance your dog could have run into something (as i have seen these working doggies do many a time).

If I was you I would PM Keeps as she is very knowledgeable on Plummer terriers, and,if you tell her the breeding of your pup she may know of some problems that are in that particular gene pool...........Martin.

first was poison, vet pumped her with vit k and fluids, died the following afternoon.

the other, never found out, you could tell she was unwell, but she did'nt look too bad, so brough her indoors

for the evening and was going to get her to the vet first thing the next morning, woke up to a dead dog, we live and learn...

what was the outcome with your dog?

He is back from newmarket after MRI scan, spinal tap and various tests, as he had no reflexes in his legs, eyes and throat, but no diagnosis. He can walk but is very wobbley, on back legs, his reflexes in his eyes and throat have come back. Am awaiting further test results this week.

Hopefully he will improve......
