Hi everyone I am new to the forum. I have recently startted gettisng back into ferreting after about a 15 year break. I have always still kept terriers just for bushing. I stopped going ferreting when I was 17 when i found out what beer was. I have lost most of my nets over the years only have about 8 left. I always made my own nets from being 11 years old I had the hardest skin in school lol. I used to use some material that my dads friend got from the dunlop factory it was excellent it is the stuff that goes in high pressure hoses it never rots or tangles and is realy strong the only down side of it was the knot would slip so had to be douple knotted on every knot. I am wondering where you get your material from I can get hemp off fleabay but am I right to believe that you only get a couple of seasons from it as I can vividly remember using one that I had been given and the rabbit ran straight through it.

Any advice is apreciated as I refuse to use the ones from the local hunting shop cheap nylon that tangles if you look at it.

cheers advance

Have a look on the JBSnets web site plenty of choice there for materials and quick turnround on orders.

I've used their 6z and 10z spun polypropylene and nylon, both produce good nets (well at least the materials is good, can't promise about the workmaship

Dont bother with jbs :nono: hes a tosser and sells stuff that aint what its meant to be. I bought a hemp net making kit and i may have been better using wool! costs a bob aswell. Go on thenetloft.net from molecatcher on here. I have never yet heard anyone say anything but good whereas with JBS ive heard more worse than good. Good luck and either hemp or spun nylon, and its bollocks about it only lasting a couple seasons as if you look after it properly it should last as long as your ferrets lol
