If its what you really want to do then you will find the strengh to acomplish it. But if its a half hearted dicision because theres no other option then you will find yourself back to square one. Sappers are brave fookers, They have to get on with it even under fire and i have a lot of respect for them even no para would openly admit it. redeye jedi 39 Posted January 14, 2009 Report Share Posted January 14, 2009 im in the army, have done over 10 years, keep your mind open young man, if you can be an electrician then have you thought about becoming a electronics technician in the REME? one of the fastest promotion in the army, you'll be a sgt on over 30k after 4 years finishing your trade. you'll get a HND in electronics maint and design. when you leave you'll have company's throwing jobs at you that pay HUGE money. i wish i applied myself alittle more at school, cause thats the route i would of taken. these have been some of the best years of my life, just remember to take the rough with the smooth, the shit times dont last in the memory but the good times will last with you forever. Im an electrician by trade and while the course isnt easy i enjoyed every day of it and have a trade for life. Also assuming that you use this site because you hunt, at gibralter barracks we have minley shoot. For 200 quid you get 12 months of pheasant, pigeon, duck and dear stalking as well as vermin. if you want any more info on the engineers let me know all the best Danny Quote Link to post Share on other sites

THE STIFFMEISTER 15,642 Posted February 8, 2009 Report Share Posted February 8, 2009 I am a paratrooper in the royal engineers mate, In 23 eng regiment...One thing I will say about the corps is that you will never do enougH of your trade to be on a par with a civillian artisan..Fact....And once your past your deadline the army have you for 5 years.shit bust, that is it. Ona good point the lifestyle is amazing and the lads round you WILL ALWAYS BE A PART OF YOUR LIFE. What times are you getting for your runs???
