COMPO 54
Nice dogs manipulus! In the UK the working dogs tend to be called Teckels, the dachshunds name tends to be the show bred dogs, there is a society for the working teckels http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/sunsong/UK%20Teckel/ukteckel.htm I have a teckel dog pup and a teckel x bitch something i agree with John Hubery on, in a few years they will be very popular here, the drive and scenting ability they bring is second to none, for hunting above and below ground and also for tracking they are very capable Quote Link to post

manipulus 4
double box £50, triple box £65 Very correct. Can you write his sizes? May be onto a size to have made? May be, how the dachshund would not need tall one like this. Two rows would find enough in the car then. How is it possible to post it? Quote Link to post

littlefish 587
Nice dogs manipulus. They look like' real' healthy dogs that have the physical ability to do a days work. Not like the UK Kennel Club types with little stunnted legs who look like freaks, hardly able to carry their bellies above the floor. I like the look of the fawn/ginger one. Please keep the posts coming. Quote Link to post

Please keep the posts coming. I think that everyone is in agreement with you there. The KC ones ive seen look nothing like the ones that are worked. How hard is it to import a couple of dachshunds and how much would you be looking at for a decently bred one? I dont understand why in this country we have show strains and working strains. If it is a working breed then before it can be bred from it should have to prove itself in its suitability and ability to work and the KC should not judge on the 'potential' to do the job, it should have already done the job. That way you would eventually get one strain that both works and shows which is the way it should be, the KC shows can often judge the wrong end of the lead and if you are an unknown face then you may aswell sit it out no matter what the quality of your dog. Then the facey people get well known as having 'quality' stock that then gets bred from and people buy pups thinking they are getting the real deal when really they are just buying into the cycle of poor quality registered dogs that we have in this country. Makes me mad..... Quote Link to post
